TOMASZ GRABOWY
As a jazz musician he debuted at the XIIIth Jazz Juniors Festival in Cracow, where he received an individual prize with his band Head Office. With Funky Groove he has taken part in all Polish jazz festivals (Jazz Jamboree, Summer Jazz Days, Jazz Over Odra River etc.). Since 1995 Tomasz Grabowy has been a part of the group Walk Away. With this band he participated in many jazz tours with the world's finest jazz stars - Mino Cinelu, Frank Gambale, Eric Marienthal, Randy Brecker, Bill Evans, Dean Brown, Bob Malach. As an independent musician he also worked with: Michal Urbaniak, Urszula Dudziak, Krystyna Pronko, Dave Samuels (ex-Spyro Gyra), Henry McCoullough (ex-Joe Cocker). With the last he toured Ireland twice. Nowadays Tomasz Grabowy can be heard in Zbigniew Lewandowski's projects: Mike Russel Band, MFA Kera band, Krzysztof Puma Piasecki, and Jan "Izba" Izbinski's blues project. The newest project of Tomasz is Zbyszek Jakubek's (ex-Walk Away) band. For many years Tomasz Grabowy has been the favourite of musican's magazines (eg. the award for the Best Rhythm Section and Record Of the Year 2002 - Go To Chechua Mountain - Funky Groove - the poll in "Gitara i Bas" ["Guitar and Bass"] magazine, and the title of Best Electric Jazz Band of 2003 - Funky Groove - in the Jazz Forum magazine poll).
